1 million drones production in 2024: Reality or myth? Ukrainian Industries Minister's insight

In December of this year, Ukraine is already producing more than 50,000 FPV drones. Specifically, it has plans for medium and long-range UAVs, according to the Minister for Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin.
According to Kamishin:
- As of December, Ukraine produces more than 50,000 FPV drones.
- In 2024, the production of over 10,000 medium-range strike drones (hundreds of kilometers) and more than a thousand long-range UAVs (over a thousand kilometers) is expected.
"All production capacities are ready, contracts for 2024 are beginning," writes the Minister for Strategic Industries.
One million drones in 2024
During a press conference summarizing 2023, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy positively endorsed the increase in drone production in Ukraine and emphasized the importance of developing a specialized management structure for this. He also noted that in 2024, Ukrainian production would release one million UAVs.
"We will address logistics. Our soldiers will receive domestic drones in brigades. Regarding production, we will manufacture one million drones next year," he said.
Ukrainian UAVs
In July of this year, former Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov spoke about over 20 new types of drones of Ukrainian production in the arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Recently, the Ministry of Defense expedited the process of transferring drones to the front lines, while Ukrainian experts have started mass production of equivalents to Iranian Shahed drones.
