The latest attack by Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) on the Crimean Bridge was a double strike, using two explosive charges weighing 1,100 kg each, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing SBU Head Vasyl Malyuk.

According to Malyuk, key bridge supports were hit twice. For this, the SBU used two 1,100 kg explosive charges.

"I won't disclose any further details for obvious reasons. But believe me: this is the beginning of a new era. We've hit the bridge three times. In 2022, we came in from land with a vehicle carrying 21 tons of explosives in trotyl equivalent. In 2023, we used two SBU Sea Baby combat drones by sea," the SBU Head said.

Malyuk noted that this time the bridge was attacked underwater.

"I can tell you for sure: together with the 13th Main Directorate of the SBU's Defense Counterintelligence Department, we've launched a new era in naval history," the SBU chief emphasized.

Strike on Crimean Bridge

On June 3, 2025, Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) carried out a successful underwater attack on the Crimean Bridge, detonating charges beneath the structure's supports. As a result, traffic on the bridge was temporarily suspended.

This marked the third attack on the bridge since the start of the full-scale war:

  • On October 8, 2022, a truck exploded on the bridge, causing a major fire;
  • The second attack, in July 2023, involved Sea Baby drones, which destroyed two spans of the bridge.

Following the latest attack, the Kremlin claimed no damage was recorded. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov even declared that Moscow expects more attacks.
