Trump announced visit of Europeans to US to discuss ending war in Ukraine

Some European leaders will visit the United States to discuss ways to end the war between Ukraine and Russia.
US President Donald Trump stated this while speaking to journalists after returning from the US Open in New York.
Some European leaders will visit the United States on Monday or Tuesday to discuss ways to end the war between Ukraine and Russia.
"Some European leaders are coming to our country Monday or Tuesday, individually," Trump said, without specifying whom he meant.
The president added that he is "not happy" with the state of the war between Russia and Ukraine, after journalists asked about the massive air attack on Sunday night, when falling drone debris caused a fire at the Cabinet of Ministers in Kyiv.
At the same time, Trump again stressed that the war will end soon.
"Very soon, in the next few days, I’ll be talking to Putin. Listen, we’re going to do it. The situation between Russia and Ukraine - we’re going to fix it. I’m sure we’re going to fix it," the White House chief said.
Peace process in war between Ukraine and Russia
On August 18, leaders of several European countries and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting at the White House, where they discussed ways to end the war.
Following the talks, around 10 European countries agreed to send troops to Ukraine as a security guarantee after the active phase of hostilities ends.
The US refused to deploy its own troops but did not rule out supporting Ukraine from the air as part of a security guarantee.
After intensified strikes on Kyiv and across Ukraine by Russian forces, Trump declared his intention to "punish" Putin and introduce additional sanctions against Russia.
He also voiced frustration with the Russian leader’s unwillingness to end the war in Ukraine.
