Car rams gates of Russian Consulate General in Sydney, police officer injured

A man drove a car into the gates of the Russian Consulate General in Sydney, Australia. A police officer was injured, and the suspect has been arrested, according to 9News.
The car drove through the gates, crossed the lawn near the consulate building, and stopped by the flagpole where the tricolor flag was flying.
In their statement, New South Wales police said they were called to Fullerton Street over a car that had been illegally parked on the driveway leading to the consulate.
When officers tried to speak with the driver, he started the engine and rammed his vehicle into the gates.
As a result, one police officer sustained a hand injury and was hospitalized.
The 39-year-old man was arrested and is cooperating with the investigation.
As RBC-Ukraine reported earlier, Poland is closing the Russian Consulate General in Kraków following the May 2024 arson attack on the Marywilska shopping center in Warsaw.
The Polish government said the fire was part of a coordinated operation organized by Russian intelligence services. Prime Minister Donald Tusk directly blamed Moscow for orchestrating the attack on the shopping facility.
