Ukraine has fought valiantly, but a full-scale war against Russia will not end in victory, as in World War II, says US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg during the Munich Security Conference.
"Let's be totally honest. The Ukrainians have fought valiantly. The first thing to do is to stop the bleeding, and then treat for shock. This is a part of the process we have to figure out what it looks like. If you are thinking about victory on World War II terms, that is probably not going to happen," Kellogg said in response to a question about whether Washington wants to end or win the war.
US "peace plan"
After winning the presidential election, the administration of the current head of the White House, Donald Trump, began to actively work on a so-called "peace plan" to resolve a full-scale war. Earlier, the Republican had repeatedly claimed that he was able to stop hostilities in a day but later changed his rhetoric.
According to Kellogg, it is Trump who will present the plan. At the same time, the media claim that the US has suspended the development of the plan to learn more about the opinions of European countries.
Trump has also recently promised that Kyiv will take part in negotiations to end the war.
