On the night of December 18, Russian forces attacked the Cherkasy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy regions with drones, according to Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper, Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration head Vitalii Kim, Sumy Regional Military Administration head Oleh Hryhorov, Cherkasy Regional Military Administration head Vitalii Taburets, and Kryvyi Rih Defence Council head Oleksandr Vilkul.

Sumy region

As a result of a strike in the Kovpakivskyi district of Sumy, civilian infrastructure was damaged. Windows were shattered in residential and non-residential buildings.

According to preliminary information, there were no fatalities. At least one person was injured.

Odesa region

In the Odesa district, a Russian drone attack damaged glazing in a nine-storey residential building and an educational facility. No fires were reported.

Seven people are known to have been injured. Six received medical assistance at the scene, while one person was hospitalized in moderate condition.

Mykolaiv region

Overnight, Russian forces attacked the region’s energy infrastructure, causing power outages in several settlements in the Voznesensk and Mykolaiv districts.

No casualties were reported.

Cherkasy region

A drone attack hit the regional centre, causing damage to infrastructure. Emergency services are working at the scene, with further details to follow, regional authorities said.

Kryvyi Rih

There were strikes on residential areas, resulting in a fire.

An assistance centre for those affected has been set up at a nearby school.

Two people were injured: a 58-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman.

Attacks on Ukraine's regions

Earlier, on the morning of December 16, Russian forces attacked a high-rise building in Zaporizhzhia with a drone. According to the State Emergency Service, four apartments on the fifth and sixth floors caught fire. Rescuers evacuated five residents from upper floors, two of them using an aerial ladder. Four people were injured.

In addition, on the night of December 17, Russia carried out two drone attacks on the Odesa region, damaging civilian infrastructure. A fire broke out at the site but was quickly extinguished by emergency services. No casualties were reported.
