Rescuers evacuated three women and three children from a dangerous area in the Zaporizhzhia region, according to the State Emergency Service.
All those rescued belong to one family: an 81-year-old grandmother, a 57-year-old mother, and a 37-year-old daughter with her three children, including a 14-year-old teenager, a 9-year-old girl, and a baby boy who recently turned one.
"Their home was shaking from explosions, and the fear for the children’s lives became unbearable," the State Emergency Service wrote.
The mother of the minors said she had hesitated for a long time, hoping the situation would calm down.
"But when the constant, relentless strikes began, I realised we could not wait any longer. I worry deeply for my children. Their lives and safety are the only things that matter now. We left for their sake," she said.
The State Emergency Service again urges residents of frontline communities not to delay.
"Do not wait for a miracle. Protect yourselves and your loved ones now. Your life is the most valuable thing," officials stressed.
Evacuation from frontline areas
Earlier, authorities approved mandatory evacuation of children together with parents or legal guardians from several settlements in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Over the past five months, 121,500 people have been evacuated from frontline territories, including around 14,000 children and nearly 4,000 individuals with limited mobility.
