Poland opens largest training center for Ukrainian Armed Forces troops

Poland has opened its largest training center for Ukrainian servicemembers - Camp Jomsborg. The facility can accommodate up to 1,200 people at a time, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
As reported by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Yevhen Moisiuk, the new training center was established with the support of European partners, particularly Norway.
The facility is designed to train the Ukrainian Defense Forces and enhance the exchange of combat experience between Ukrainian troops and NATO members.
"Here we will also be able to share with our partners our experience in the use of and countermeasures against drones," Moisiuk noted.
The training center is located at one of the Polish Army’s military ranges. It represents an element of NATO’s support for Ukraine and lays the foundation for further cooperation in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
The opening ceremony was attended by Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Norwegian Defense Minister Torgeir Onshuus Sandvik, Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur, and representatives from other NATO member states.
Currently, 250 Norwegian instructors are already stationed at the facility, with Estonian and other Allied personnel expected to join soon.
Cooperation between Armed Forces of Ukraine and European partners
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine, citing EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, reported that European countries plan to send military instructors to Ukraine as part of the EUMAM training mission, but only after the war ends, as part of future security guarantees.
According to Kallas, the European Union remains Ukraine’s largest partner in military training, having conducted numerous courses for Ukrainian troops. Since the start of the program, over 80,000 Ukrainian servicemembers have completed training.
In April last year, the “Lyut” Police Brigade released a video of exercises conducted with NATO instructors, where Ukrainian fighters practiced handling various weapons systems.
