Russian medical staff have once again been brought into the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Local doctors continue to refuse to cooperate with the occupying forces and are leaving the region, according to a post by the National Resistance Center.

Another group of Russian medical staff has arrived in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, this time from Kalmykia. Their deployment is linked to attempts by the occupying authorities to compensate for the shortage of local specialists and conceal the real situation in the region.

Local doctors are refusing en masse to work with the occupiers and are leaving their posts, further exacerbating an already severe shortage of medical personnel.

Resource shortages

The occupied territories continue to experience deficits of medicine, fuel, water, grain, and qualified specialists. The occupiers are trying to address some of these issues in isolated cases in order to create the appearance of normal functioning infrastructure.

According to local reports, the newly arrived Russian doctors are involved in falsifying medical examinations of children ahead of forced "recreational" programs. In addition, civilian hospitals are being partially converted into facilities for Russian military needs, restricting residents’ access to medical care.

Impact on population

This practice increases pressure on people living in the occupied territories. Local families face an acute lack of qualified assistance and are being forced to adapt to the new realities of how healthcare institutions operate.

In the temporarily occupied parts of the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces are attempting to fill personnel shortages by transferring soldiers from Russia. These measures are aimed at maintaining control and strengthening the Russian military presence in the area.

Meanwhile, Russia is reportedly planning to accelerate the mobilization of Ukrainians in the occupied territories. Lacking sufficient resources, the occupiers are expected to rely on forced conscription, as well as coercion and blackmail against detainees and prisoners.
