Police arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of flying a drone over Windsor ahead of the state visit of US President Donald Trump to the United Kingdom. A few hours earlier, another man had also been detained for flying a drone, according to the Daily Mail.

The suspect from Aylesbury is in custody after allegedly breaching temporary flight restrictions. These were introduced as part of a major security operation for the short visit of US President Donald Trump to the United Kingdom.

Thames Valley Police said the man had been flying a drone in the village of Datchet, near Windsor Castle.

This happened just a few hours after another 37-year-old man from Brentford was also arrested on suspicion of operating a drone over Windsor Great Park.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump and his wife have arrived in the United Kingdom.

Trump's UK visit

This is the second state visit of the US president to the kingdom. The Trump couple will be accompanied by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who earlier arrived at Stansted Airport, where he was welcomed by UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper.

On Wednesday, 17 September, the high-ranking US guests will visit Windsor Castle, where they will meet members of the royal family and pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. A state banquet in honour of the visit is also scheduled.

On Thursday, 18 September, the US president will meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, as well as key British business leaders. A joint press conference by Trump and Starmer is planned afterwards.
