Trump said he is set to speak with Putin in coming days

US President Donald Trump will hold a conversation with Vladimir Putin and promises to "settle" the war between Ukraine and Russia.
The leader stated this to journalists after returning from the US Open in New York.
"Very soon, in the next few days, I’ll be talking to Putin. Listen, we’re going to do it. The situation between Russia and Ukraine - we’re going to fix it. I’m sure we’re going to fix it," Trump said.
He reminded that he had resolved seven conflicts that were thought impossible to end.
"One of them lasted 31 years, with 10 million people dead. Another - 34 years, with 8 million victims. The conflict in Congo, with Rwanda, went on for years, involving 9 million people. All settled, everybody happy. The one I thought would be the easiest, because of Putin, I thought, should have been simpler. It didn’t happen, but we’ll still get it done," Trump added.
Trump's peace initiatives
Donald Trump, even during his election campaign, declared his intention to end the war in Ukraine "within 24 hours," but later clarified that it was "sarcasm."
After meeting Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15, the American leader said he was ready to provide security guarantees to Kyiv, but stressed that there would be no US troops on Ukrainian territory.
Instead, as The Telegraph wrote, the White House chief is discussing with Europeans the possibility of deploying American private military contractors.
Following a recent meeting with Trump in Washington, the leaders of the Coalition of the willing countries declared their readiness to deploy deterrence forces after the signing of a peace treaty between Ukraine and Russia.
In addition, the heads of Ukraine, Russia, and the United States voiced new messages regarding the war and peace negotiations.
