Ukrainian expert reveals hottest zones on front line

One of the most active directions on the front line right now is the Northern-Slobozhanskyi direction. Intense fighting also continues in the Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, and Lyman directions, said Ivan Tymochko, head of the Council of Reservists of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine's YouTube channel.
"Indeed, the north and northeast of Ukraine remain the most active zones for now. This is the Northern-Slobozhanskyi direction. We know that the enemy has begun to intensify operations near Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. The Lyman direction has been hot for a while and is second in combat intensity only to Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka," Tymochko said.
He also noted that the situation has been difficult for more than a year in the Chasiv Yar and Toretsk directions.
"The enemy sees the capture of Kostiantynivka as a staging ground for forming a strike force toward Druzhkivka and Kramatorsk–Sloviansk. This is because they failed to split our defensive lines near Myrnohrad… Now they’re pressing hard on the Novopavlivka direction," the expert added.
According to him, when there’s talk of improvement, it can mean a number of things.
"It could mean the restoration of control over territory previously occupied by the enemy. Now, regaining control may mean that the enemy's offensive is suspended or stopped, with their forces achieving zero results," Tymochko explained.
Frontline situation
According to the General Staff, as of the beginning of July 8, there have been a total of 86 combat engagements along the front line. Ukraine’s Defense Forces continue to hold back the advance of the Russian army.
In particular, on the Northern-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, Ukrainian troops repelled six enemy attacks today.
On the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces launched 37 attempts since the start of the day to push Ukrainian troops out of their positions.
