The Russian army may launch another large-scale strike on Ukraine's infrastructure by January 20. Aviation expert Valerii Romanenko told RBC-Ukraine that this strike could be more precise than the previous one.

"In my opinion, by January 20, or possibly January 21, which is a critical date, the Russians may try to launch a massive strike again. I don't want to be right; I hope I'm mistaken. But, in my view, they are currently preparing a more meticulous and larger-scale strike. But again, I really hope to be wrong. I generally dislike making predictions," Romanenko said.

He adds that the Russian army tends to fully exploit its capabilities to terrorize the population since these strikes are not directed at military targets. Instead, they target infrastructure facilities and gas systems - not the gas transportation system but rather infrastructure enterprises.

"If we consider the Russians' habits, they may try to launch something to have leverage if negotiations between the new US leader and the criminal Putin take place. This could happen before their meeting or phone conversation," the expert said.

When asked whether the Russians could prepare a new powerful strike on Ukraine within five days, Romanenko responded: "I think they had been preparing earlier, and this was just an improvised move in response to massive strikes by our drones on Russian military and fuel-energy facilities."
