Israel's operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon is well-prepared, expert says
Israel's operation in southern Lebanon has a clearly defined goal - to destroy the infrastructure of Hezbollah's shelling so that Israeli refugees can safely return to their homes, according to the RBC-Ukraine article “One year since Hamas attack: How Israel wages war against terrorists and what's to come”.
According to Israeli military expert Yigal Levin, unlike in 2006, when the war began in an impulsive reaction to the kidnapping of an Israeli soldier and an attack on a patrol on the border with Lebanon, the current operation was carefully prepared.
“Now, preparations for the operation in Lebanon have been ongoing throughout the year. The groundwork was laid. It’s no coincidence that the Israeli army recently released data showing that Israeli forces have been entering Lebanese territory for several months now,” Levin said.
October 7 marks one year since Hamas attacked Israel. According to The Guardian, on the eve of this anniversary, the Israeli military is intensifying its operations and preparing a serious and significant response to Iran for the latest large-scale missile attack.
On the night of October 1, Israel launched a ground operation in Lebanon. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that ground forces are acting with the support of aviation and artillery, striking at military targets in Lebanon.
