On Wednesday evening, December 3, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with ballistic missiles. Casualties and damage have already been confirmed.

More details about the latest strike on Ukrainian cities can be found in the material by RBC-Ukraine.

Strike on Kryvyi Rih

Around 5:46 p.m., an explosion was reported in Kryvyi Rih. The Air Force had warned that a high-speed target was heading toward the city.

Later, the head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, said that Russian forces attacked the city with a ballistic missile. According to preliminary information, it was an Iskander-M. The target of the Russian soldiers was an administrative building, which caught fire.

Vilkul said the strike damaged 10 apartment buildings, around 20 private houses, a school, shops, garages, and cars.

The attack also hit a gas pipeline, but an emergency situation was avoided.

The acting head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Administration, Vladyslav Haivanenko, reported that five people were injured. Among them:

  • a 3-year-old girl (receiving outpatient care)

  • a 28-year-old woman (outpatient care)

  • an 87-year-old woman (moderate injuries, hospitalized)

  • a 72-year-old man (sought medical help)

  • a 78-year-old woman (sought medical help)

An emergency response center was set up opposite the building hit by the missile, where residents can receive temporary supplies — plastic sheeting, OSB boards, and other building materials.

According to Vilkul, the number of people injured in the strike on Kryvyi Rih has risen to six. A 57-year-old man was also injured.

"Doctors are providing them with all necessary care. The little girl and the young woman will receive outpatient treatment. The most important thing is that there are no fatalities," he said.

Fifteen apartment buildings were damaged, two of them very seriously.

Gas supply to 29 buildings has also been suspended due to damage to the gas pipeline, and repair work is underway. Specialists expect to restore gas service by the end of tomorrow. All emergency services are working at the scene.

Strike on Bashtanka

Around 7:13 p.m., explosions were reported in the Mykolaiv region, where another high-speed target had been detected. It was later confirmed that Russian soldiers carried out a missile strike on Bashtanka.

"Bashtanka. No casualties reported at this time," the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, wrote an hour later.

He did not disclose further details.

Explosions in Kharkiv
