Nighttime Shahed attack on Poland

On the night of Wednesday, September 10, Russian strike drones violated Poland's airspace. Aviation had to be deployed to counter the aerial threat.

The Operational Command of Poland’s Armed Forces reported that, in addition to air force measures, ground-based air defense and radar systems were placed on the highest alert.

According to data from Flightradar24, an F-35 fighter jet was also in Polish airspace.

The country closed the airspace of four airports.

As of the morning of September 10, the operation to eliminate the objects was still ongoing, according to Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk.

Earlier, Russian drones had also violated Poland’s airspace - for example, on September 3, when aviation was also scrambled. On that occasion, two drones entered Polish territory, but the military did not shoot them down since they posed no threat.
