Kim Jong-un urges upgrading North Korea's nuclear 'shield and sword'

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un wants to strengthen the so-called nuclear "shield and sword" of the DPRK. He noted that this is the country's top priority, according to Reuters.
The leader of the DPRK on Friday, 26 September, held a meeting with key officials and scientists of North Korean research institutes of nuclear weapons.
As North Korean media reports, he stated that further development of the nuclear program is the "essential top priority" of the country.
"Comrade Kim Jong Un said we must constantly sharpen and renew the nuclear shield and sword that can reliably guarantee national sovereignty, security, and interests and the right to development," writes the Korean media.
Provocations of DPRK
It is worth noting that North Korea continues to increase production of missiles and its nuclear program. DPRK tests its weapons. Mostly, such tests are accompanied by provocations near the sea or airspace of neighboring countries.
Recently, Kim Jong Un stated that the DPRK created a "powerful secret weapon." About which exact weapon it is, for now, it is unknown.
President of South Korea Lee Jae Myong stated that Pyongyang is finishing the development of an intercontinental ballistic missile which will be able to deliver a nuclear strike on the USA.
