Ukraine has already received some confirmations from leaders regarding the increase in capabilities of air defense, according to a statement from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"We are working to the maximum to strengthen our air defense capabilities. There will be a lot of communication with partners in the near future regarding this matter – regarding new air defense systems and joint productions, including drone manufacturing – increasing volumes and attracting special investments into such productions. This includes joint productions with our partners and work within our country," the president said.

He thanked everyone who supports Ukraine and who convinces other leaders and states to also join in assistance.

"We already have some confirmations from leaders regarding the increase of our air defense capabilities, and the main thing is to fully implement them and add further corresponding agreements," he said.

Air defense systems for Ukraine

This year Ukraine has faced a significant shortage in air defense. The main factors contributing to this have been substantial delays in aid from the USA and an increase in Russian strikes, as Russia has increasingly targeted energy and civilian objects in Ukraine.

Over the past few months, the Ukrainian government has been in talks with all partners to strengthen the country's air defense, and it has yielded results. Specifically, the Netherlands has announced its intention, with the support of other Patriot system-owning countries, to assemble and transfer a Patriot system to Ukraine in the short term.

Meanwhile, the USA has promised to do everything possible to find and deliver two more Patriot systems to Ukraine.
