Zelenskyy сomments on Avdiivka situation: 'Our soldiers' lives are priority'
The Ukrainian military is heroically defending Avdiivka and finding logistical ways, according to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
"As for Avdiivka, the situation is not the first day. We remember what Russia is doing to our towns and villages," he says.
According to him, the Ukrainian military is heroically defending strategic things, and logistical routes that can lead the enemy to advance.
"I understand in detail what is happening, I am in contact with our military leadership. I will not say what new approaches they are using, their task is to do everything to protect our people," the President says.
According to Zelenskyy, "the main signal from me is that our military is the most important thing we have, it is our main weapon."
Situation in Avdiivka
The Russian army launched an offensive on Avdiivka in early October. During the assaults, it lost a significant amount of equipment and personnel. According to UK intelligence, Avdiivka remains the main direction for Russia at the front.
Today, the commander of the Tavria Operational and Strategic Group of troops, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, announced the decision to withdraw from the Zenit position to the southeastern outskirts of Avdiivka.
