President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with King Abdullah II of Jordan and discussed potential security cooperation. The head of state emphasized that assistance should be mutual, according to his Facebook post.

“Ukraine is open to joint work to defend against drone and missile attacks. From our own experience, we know that without a unified system, it is simply impossible to establish comprehensive protection of people and critical infrastructure,” Zelenskyy wrote after the meeting with the King.

He added that Ukraine has developed a system to counter enemy attacks, including Iranian drones.

“It is also very important that those to whom we offer our expertise can help strengthen us as well,” the President noted, thanking Abdullah II for his openness to dialogue.

What preceded this

Jordan became drawn into the conflict in the Middle East when Tehran began striking US military bases in Gulf countries.

For example, on March 1, Iran shelled military bases in Jordan and Iraq.

Ukraine continues to conclude partnership agreements with Gulf countries and states opposing the Iranian regime. For instance, the day before, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced new security cooperation after meeting with the leader of the UAE.

Tehran declared Ukraine a legitimate target after Kyiv began helping Gulf countries counter Iranian Shahed drones.

The US and Israel’s operation against the Iranian regime began on February 28. On the first day, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was reportedly eliminated. However, the operation has dragged on despite the US leader's ambitious statements. He is currently considering whether to launch a ground operation in Iran.
