Zelenskyy says Ukraine fully aligned with EU sanctions on Iran

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine is fully synchronized with the European Union's sanctions package targeting the Iranian regime.
"Our institutions have started implementing the decision of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council regarding the synchronization of European and Ukrainian sanctions," the Ukrainian President said.
Zelenskyy informed that the 13th and 14th rounds of EU sanctions are now fully aligned with Ukraine's sanctions. This alignment was officially approved by the president today.
"We are also fully synchronizing the European sanctions package against the regime in Iran. It covers many individuals and companies. It targets not only military production and external terror schemes against regional neighbors but also internal repression in Iran," Zelenskyy said.
The president noted that Iran is one of the most brutal regimes in the world. He added that it is no surprise that Russian President Vladimir Putin has found common ground with Tehran.
"We will continue this work on synchronization, and I expect all our state institutions to move quickly. Sanctions must now be one of the key priorities — the world's sanctions against Russia," Zelenskyy stressed.
He added that sanctions are what truly limit Russia's strategic development capabilities and potential. Each day, they must "painfully restrict" Russia’s ability to continue the war.
Zelenskyy on Iran
A few weeks ago, Zelenskyy said Iran is effectively fighting against Ukraine by supplying weapons and technology to Russia.
"Iran, the regime, is effectively fighting against us by delivering weapons to the Russians. Weapons, technology, and possibly other things — I don't know. That's why they are very dangerous," the Ukrainian President said.
In a recent address, he also stated that Iran’s decisions to aid Russia have caused massive destruction and human losses in Ukraine and many other countries.
