The decision to dismiss the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, was made for several reasons. One of them is the need to review the tactics of actions, says the advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak.

He reminds that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy decided to carry out a systematic renewal of the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The decision is motivated by the need to review the tactics of actions, which did not fully achieve the desired result last year, to prevent stagnation on the front line, which negatively affects public sentiment," Podolyak writes.

He also clarifies that among the reasons is the need to search for new functional and high-tech solutions to maintain and develop initiative, as well as the importance of launching the process of reforming management principles in the army.

Zaluzhnyi was dismissed

Today, February 8, Zelenskyy announced his decision to change the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Valerii Zaluzhnyi was dismissed.

Rumors that Zaluzhnyi would be sent into retirement emerged last week. Then officials and not only, based on their sources, reported on Zelenskyy's decision to dismiss the Ukraine's army chief.

Such rumors appeared last year when a conflict began between Zelenskyy and Zaluzhnyi. The fact of the conflict was confirmed by sources to RBC-Ukraine.

The new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine became Oleksandr Syrskii, who previously served as the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
