President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Brussels this week has not yet been confirmed due to a change in plans on the US side, presidential adviser Dmytro Lytvyn states in response to questions from journalists.
The question concerned a possible meeting between the Ukrainian leader and representatives of the European Union, NATO, and the United States, which had been planned for this week.
"We are not confirming it for now due to a change in plans on the US side," Lytvyn stressed.
What preceded this
Yesterday, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine, the US, the EU, and NATO would hold talks in Brussels this week.
The parties plan to discuss security issues, guarantees, and Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
According to the president, following the US delegation’s visit to St. Petersburg and an earlier briefing, the format of the upcoming talks had changed. Instead of a short meeting, the parties plan to hold a broader discussion.
The president noted that the meeting would take place tentatively on Tuesday or Wednesday.
He added that representatives of Ukraine, the US, and the EU, as well as the NATO Secretary General, were expected to take part in the talks.
