Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak, made a statement on negotiations with Russia against the backdrop of the US House of Representatives decision to allocate over $60 billion in aid to Ukraine.

"No one will negotiate with Russia on Russia's terms. The war must end only with the unconditional punishment of the aggressor," he stated.

Podolyak also explained what the US decision on the bill to aid Ukraine with over $60 billion actually means.

"Significantly increased military assistance to Ukraine today means de-escalation, restoration of rights, returning world to a predictable future, guaranteed ultimate punishment for criminals (perpetrators of military aggression and genocidal acts in Ukraine), destruction of Russia's monstrous reputation, demilitarization of the unconditional aggressor, and lessening of Russia's presence in global markets, which has a corrosive impact on entire regions," he added.

US aid to Ukraine

The US House of Representatives passed a bill to fund aid to Ukraine. Now, the bill is to be considered by the US Senate on April 23 and then signed by US President Joe Biden.

According to the New York Times, the first batch of American military aid could be delivered to Ukraine within a few days after the bill is signed by the President of the United States if approved by the Senate. This will likely include ammunition for air defense systems and artillery.

The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, called the approval of the bill to aid Ukraine with $61 billion a clear signal to the Kremlin of continued support for Ukraine.

Providing aid to Ukraine has been delayed for several months. You can find more details in RBC-Ukraine's report.
