Zelenskyy's office denies collapse in US-EU cooperation on anti-Russian sanctions

Ukraine's Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk denied claims that the US and EU had suspended sanctions cooperation. Coordination continues despite political difficulties, he wrote on Facebook.
He posted on Facebook, responding to the articles of some German media, including Süddeutsche Zeitung, which reported the alleged collapse of cooperation.
Vlasiuk emphasized that he had spoken with his American colleagues twice in the past three weeks - at joint working meetings in Europe.
“Is it the same 'impetus' that used to be? No, but only because of the political context. Is it a 'collapse of cooperation'? Absolutely not,” he said.
According to Vlasyuk, coordination and information exchange within the sanctions coalition continue.
In particular, the United Kingdom and the United States are preparing new sanctions packages aimed at the shadow fleet and schemes to circumvent restrictions, while the European Union is working on the 18th sanctions package.
He also noted that it would be difficult for the EU to extend the current restrictions without the consent of the United States and the support of Hungary.
Earlier today, German media reported that the European Union is facing a collapse in cooperation with the United States on sanctions against Russia.
All channels of communication between Brussels and Washington in countering sanctions circumvention have been suspended.
Suddeutsche Zeitung reported that despite public assurances of support for Ukraine, Europe doubts the US's readiness to join the new sanctions.
