Zelenskyy: Russia fires 700 bombs and 600 drones at Ukraine in a week

As the president noted, over the week, Russia has fired nearly 700 aerial bombs and more than 600 attack drones at Ukraine.

Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of implementing agreements to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.

"This is why it is crucial for partners to implement the agreements that have already been reached between us. The decisions of the NATO summit in Washington, as well as those made during Ramstein format meetings regarding air defense for Ukraine, have not yet been fully implemented," the head of state underlined.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine has discussed with its partners, including the United States, the possibility of granting Ukraine licenses to produce air defense systems and missiles for them. He believes this is achievable.

"There is nothing impossible about this, and it will only strengthen our joint capabilities to ensure security. This is exactly the kind of power that can make lasting peace possible. Russia does not stop its wars voluntarily — it can only be compelled to peace. And part of this compulsion must be a sufficient quantity and quality of air defense systems," the president added.

Attacks on Ukraine

Russia attacks Ukraine with drones every night. Last night was no exception. The occupiers launched 94 drones across Ukraine from four directions.

Air defense forces shot down 60 drones. Air defense operations were active in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Donetsk regions. Additionally, 34 enemy decoy drones were lost to radar tracking.

This week, the enemy forces carried out a massive strike on Zaporizhzhia. As a result of the attack, 123 people were injured, and 13 people were killed.
