Iran is already effectively participating in the war against Ukraine – through the supply of Shahed drones to Russia and the technologies for their production, according to an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for Sky News.

Zelenskyy was asked whether there is a risk of a direct Iranian attack on Ukraine amid Tehran's threats. The president replied that in fact, the attack has already taken place, just in a different form.

"And what do you think if Iran from the first year of the war gave new page, new technology to Russia, it was Shahid drones. They gave thousands of these drones. First year of the war, then they gave licenses. What did they do? Did they attack us? I think yes," he said.

According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine is trying not to open a new front and is acting cautiously, but there is no point in hiding the obvious.

"Iranians and North Koreans already attacked us," the president said.

He recalled that both countries have supplied the Kremlin with drones, missiles, and 155-mm artillery shells throughout the Russian invasion without any warnings or provocations from Kyiv, as well as the 10,000 North Korean troops involved in the war.

"We can't trust these people," Zelenskyy concluded.

The readiness for these threats to intensify, he said, is also needed now.

Iran accused Ukraine of striking a ship in the Caspian Sea – as a result of the attack, one sailor was killed, and another was injured.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that his country would respond to this strike, calling Ukraine's actions a gross violation of the UN Charter, committed at the direction of Israel with the aim of dragging Europe into its war. Iranian media, meanwhile, threatened Ukraine with ballistic strikes in response to Zelenskyy's statement.
