President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he "can forget some mistakes" of the United States president, according to The Irish Times.

On the last day of the NATO summit, US President Joe Biden made a slip of the tongue and introduced Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin," the US president said, inviting Zelenskyy to the microphone.

The US president later responded and explained the reason for this gaffe.

Shortly after the incident, Zelenskyy reacted, noting that given that Washington provides Ukraine with large military assistance, some mistakes can be forgotten.

"It’s a mistake. I think the United States gave a lot of support for Ukrainians. We can forget some mistakes, I think so," Zelenskyy said.

After Biden failed the debate with his main opponent in the election race, Donald Trump, the world's attention has been focused on the current US president.

Besides, Biden repeatedly made gaffes during a press conference about Ukraine and the US election that followed the NATO summit. Read more in RBC-Ukraine's report.
