Zelenskyy names main topics of Peace Summit in Switzerland
At the Peace Summit in Switzerland, participating countries will consider a range of key issues related to the war in Ukraine, announced President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a joint press conference with European Parliament President Roberta Metsola in Kyiv.
According to Zelenskyy, one of the key issues will be the possibility of returning captives in the all for all format, not only referring to military personnel but also civilians illegally held by Russia. The summit will also address nuclear and food security.
"We will be able to take the first steps regarding the aspect of the all for all exchange, in bringing our children back home, deported Ukrainians. And an important aspect is nuclear security and food security," he said.
At the same time, the President of Ukraine believes that the countries desiring peace will be present at the summit in Switzerland. He also noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin needs to be "put in his place" as he won't stop in Ukraine.
"How can we do this? It's not enough on the battlefield alone. Russia is a vast territory. They will pressure their people, whether they want to fight or not," Zelenskyy said.
Global Peace Summit
In June of this year, Switzerland will host the Global Peace Summit. The summit plans to address the issues of the Ukrainian peace formula, an idea proposed by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy back in 2022.
It is already known that representatives from over 100 countries have been invited to the Summit. However, Russia will not be present this time. Perhaps the Kremlin will be able to send its representatives to future sessions.
