Zelenskyy meets EU's Ambassador to Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine, Katarina Maternova, announced the head of Ukraine on Telegram.
Zelensky reminded that today, on November 8, the European Commission recommended starting negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union. This decision was presented in Brussels and the approved report was handed over to Ukraine.
"And I am happy to meet the Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine, Katarina Maternova and receive this report. We are working together for the further success of Ukraine and the entire Europe," wrote the President.
European Commission's report
It's worth noting that on November 8, the European Commission published a report on Ukraine's progress toward the European Union. It includes a recommendation to start accession negotiations.
Opening such negotiations requires the consent of all EU leaders. They will consider this matter on December 14 at the summit.
At the same time, on November 8, Zelenskyy signed a decree instructing the government to ensure Ukraine's readiness to start negotiations on joining the European Union.
