President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked US First Lady Melania Trump for coordinating the humanitarian operation in Oleshky, Kherson region, as he mentioned in an interview with Fox News.
Commenting on implementing a similar ceasefire in other areas of the front line with the involvement of the US First Lady, Zelenskyy noted that it is currently difficult to predict the number of such initiatives, but he emphasized the importance of this work.
“If First Lady can do it, can continue, it's very helpful. I'm very thankful to her,” the president emphasized.
Results of the operation in Oleshky
A temporary humanitarian ceasefire in occupied Oleshky has been in effect since October 27. The local agreement was implemented under the direct coordination of Melania Trump.
As a result of the operation, critically important humanitarian aid was successfully delivered to the region. Nearly 800 civilians were evacuated from the danger zone.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the aggressor country’s army used the ceasefire in Oleshky to fortify its positions.
The Russians rotated units, fortified their positions, expanded anti-drone defenses along roads, and bolstered logistics, particularly the delivery of ammunition.
