Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief today, December 12. Among other topics, the issue of air defense was discussed, according to the head of the state on Facebook and Telegram.

"I held a meeting of the Staff today right here, and primarily we focused on air defense, stabilizing the front, and achieving our key security objectives," stated the President.

He added that Ukraine needs a real peace, and therefore, it is necessary to be truly strong. Also, according to him, everything must be done to ensure that each day brings Ukraine closer to peace.

New Commander of the Ground Forces

During his visit to Zaporizhzhia, the President also introduced the new Commander of the Ground Forces, Mykhailo Drapatyi, to the Ukrainian generals.

"I am grateful for the trust to lead the most powerful, largest, and mightiest branch of the Armed Forces. On my part, I will do everything to ensure that the branch develops, acquires the necessary capabilities, and is prepared for all the challenges that lie ahead. People, technology, and management processes are my priorities," Drapaty stated.

For his part, the President clarified that the new Commander of the Ground Forces has already been given clear tasks, and he is ready to carry them out.

Zelensky's visit to Zaporizhzhia

Today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the Zaporizhzhia region, which is a frontline area.

In particular, he visited a HIMARS division on the Zaporizhzhia front, where he presented awards to Ukrainian defenders.
