Zelenskyy holds high-level meeting, discusses strategy to 'blind' Russian Orlan drones
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy today, February 14, held a meeting with representatives of the government, military, and defense industry. The main topic of discussion was countering reconnaissance drones, according to the head of the Ukrainian state on Facebook.
The President notes that the Russians use Orlan or ZALA drones as "eyes" for artillery and strike UAVs.
"In Ukraine, there are solutions on how to blind them. It is necessary to implement a systematic approach from identification to effective use of electronic warfare (EW) and means of destruction," adds Zelenskyy.
The head of state says that he had instructed to create a comprehensive system that would combine the army and industry. This is necessary so that manufacturers know the needs of the front line, and the army knows the production capabilities in all regions.
"The front line requires a quick response to challenges and threats. We must do everything to protect the most important thing we have on the battlefield - the lives of our soldiers," clarifies the President.
EW funds
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy named electronic warfare systems one of the key priorities of our country in 2024.
He specified that work was already underway to ensure that even more regions of Ukraine receive EW protection systems.
