Zelenskyy said he discussed the upcoming G7 summit, which US President Donald Trump is expected to attend, as well as Ukraine's assessment of Russia's position on peace, during his conversation with Witkoff and Kushner.

"A very positive conversation. I am grateful for their readiness to work as actively as possible in the coming weeks to reinvigorate diplomacy aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine," the President said.

Ukraine-US-Russia peace talks

Peace talks between Ukraine and Russia have been taking place with US mediation since last year.

On the US side, President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner have been involved in the peace process.

Witkoff and Kushner have visited Moscow several times, where they met with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

The negotiations are currently on hold because Russia insists on the fulfillment of its ultimatums regarding the Donbas region to continue the dialogue.

At the same time, according to Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's Defense Intelligence, Witkoff and Kushner have confirmed that they will visit Kyiv in the near future.

Budanov said that after their visit to Kyiv, Trump's envoys are expected to travel to Moscow.
