Zelenskyy holds a farewell conversation with Scholz

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held his last phone conversation with Olaf Scholz while he still holds the position of Chancellor of Germany, Zelenskyy shared this on Telegram.
"We value Germany’s key role in supporting Ukraine throughout all the years of the war. Ukraine is also grateful for your personal efforts," Zelenskyy wrote.
According to him, they recalled many important moments: the "Zeitenwende" speech, the historic coffee break that helped initiate Ukraine’s EU accession talks.
They also mentioned the Patriot air defense systems and other air defense supplies provided to Ukraine by Germany.
"Thank you for the assurance that you will continue to support Ukraine and our cause," the president said.
New chancellor of Germany
Elections were held in Germany this year, and the conservative bloc of the Christian Democratic Union and the Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU), led by Friedrich Merz, won.
Tomorrow, May 5, the coalition agreement between the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and the CDU/CSU is set to be signed. The following day, Merz is expected to be elected as Germany’s new chancellor in the Bundestag.
