Ukraine does not use weapons donated by partners to strike targets not on the occupied Ukrainian territory. If the target is outside Ukraine, Ukrainian weapons are used, says Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

For example, at a press conference, the Ukrainian president commented on the destruction of an enemy A-50 aircraft over the Sea of Azov near the Russian city of Yeysk. According to him, the destruction of the A-50 and other enemy aircraft is the result of an alliance between Ukraine and its Western partners.

"I will answer in general: if this plane is flying over the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, we use our (joint - ed.) weapons, if it is flying in other directions, we use Ukrainian weapons. Ukraine does not have the ability, does not have the right and will never use the weapons of its partners in territories other than the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine," Zelenskyy emphasized.

Destruction of A-50 over the Sea of Azov

Yesterday, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the Air Force destroyed a Russian A-50 over the Sea of Azov in a joint special operation. This is the second Russian A-50 shot down since the beginning of the full-scale war with Russia. Both the first and second aircraft were shot down over the Sea of Azov.

According to the representative of the DIU, Andriy Yusov, there were 10 crew members on board. According to Yusov, training such a crew is expensive and time-consuming.

The Russians used this aircraft for long-range radar detection, control, and guidance for strikes on Ukraine with missiles from strategic aviation. Read more about the uniqueness of the A-50 in RBC-Ukraine's article.
