Zelenskyy expects large aid package from US, announces decision 'for security'
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the United States is preparing a large aid package worth $725 million. He also announced the decision “for the sake of our common security.”
According to him, a strong military package worth $725 million will significantly support Ukrainian soldiers at the front.
He emphasized the readiness of the Nordic and Baltic countries to increase investment in drone production. He also thanked Norway for increasing financial support by 3 billion euros, Luxembourg for purchasing weapons, and the United Kingdom for sanctions against Russia's shadow tanker fleet.
“We are now preparing for active work in December - work with partners: negotiations and meetings. Some decisions can be implemented in these weeks and months for the sake of our common security - for the sake of Ukraine and everyone who really wants this war to end as soon as possible and, most importantly, fairly,” Zelenskyy added.
Earlier, in an interview with Sky News, President Zelensky said that the war in Ukraine could end next year, but it depends on the will and decisions of other leaders.
According to him, the next US President, Donald Trump, could put a lot of pressure on Russia by strengthening Ukraine.
He also commented on Western media reports that Washington is calling for lowering the mobilization threshold from 25 to 18 years old. According to Zelenskyy, the problem is the provision of weapons and equipment to the already formed brigades, not the lack of military personnel. According to him, Western partners have not yet equipped 10 brigades.
