President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the Minister of Defense of France Sébastien Lecornu. One of the topics of discussion was the strengthening of our country's air defense, according to the President's Office press service.

According to the department, during the meeting, further steps to strengthen Ukraine's defense were discussed, including the possibility of joint production of specific weaponry.

Zelenskyy spoke about the effectiveness of the military aid packages provided to Ukraine by France, which included SAMP/T air defense missile systems and long-range SCALP missiles.

"Special attention was given to strengthening Ukraine's air defense, especially crucial in the lead-up to the winter period," the President's Office specified.

During the meeting, Zelenskyy awarded Lecornu the Order of Merit, 2nd class, for his significant personal contribution to strengthening interstate cooperation, supporting Ukraine's state sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Visit of the French Defense Minister to Kyiv

Today, on September 28, the French Minister of Defense, Sébastien Lecornu, is in Kyiv. He came to discuss military assistance to Ukraine.

The official planned to hold meetings with his Ukrainian counterpart, Rustem Umerov, and the Minister for Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin.
