Zelenskyy confers higher ranks on Ukraine's top military leadership

"To award the military rank of lieutenant general to Major General Hnatov Andriy Viktorovych – Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the decree states.

The rank of brigadier general was received by:

• Deputy Commander of the National Guard Oleksiy Osypenko,

• First Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Oleh Voyevodin,

• Commander of the 21st Army Corps of the Operational Command North of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Kurach,

• Commander of the 16th Army Corps of the Operational Command North of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukrain,e Yevheniy Kurash,

• Chief of Staff – Deputy Commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Tkachuk.

Also, the head of state awarded new ranks to other officials:

• The special rank of police general of the third rank to Police Colonel Oleksandr Hanzha – Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region,

• The special rank of Major General of the Civil Protection Service to Colonel of the Civil Protection Service Artem Astakhov – Head of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Kharkiv region,

• The rank of Major General to Brigadier General Oleksandr Ptica – Head of the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service,

• The rank of Major General to Brigadier General Serhiy Holubtsov – Deputy Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,

• The rank of Major General to Brigadier General Oleh Luhovsky, First Deputy Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.

Recently, Zelenskyy awarded dozens of fighters of the National Guard, police, State Emergency Service, and border guard service. Colonel of the National Guard Denys Prokopenko Redis was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of the II degree.
