Zelenskyy calls on Qatar to join summit on bringing Ukrainian children home in New York

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and invited him to a summit on returning Ukrainian children in New York, according to the President.
Zelenskyy thanked the Emir of Qatar for his assistance in returning Ukrainian children who were abducted by Russia.
"I invited Qatar to take part in the summit that we co-organize with Canada, in New York. It will be dedicated to this important matter – our children and the efforts to bring them back home. For us, it is important that Qatar be represented," the President said.
The President also thanked him for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, assuring him of Ukraine’s reciprocal support.
"We also discussed the agenda of the UN General Assembly, coordinated our upcoming contacts, and agreed to stay in touch," he added.
High-level week of the UN General Assembly
From September 22 to 30, the high-level week of the UN General Assembly will take place in New York. The Ukrainian delegation will be led by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
A summit of the Crimean Platform will be held at the UN headquarters.
Over 20 bilateral meetings are also planned, alongside a series of events involving Ukrainian leadership on the sidelines of the high-level segment.
These events will focus on consolidating international support, drawing attention to the consequences of Russian aggression, and promoting Ukraine’s image.
Special attention from other countries will be drawn to the issue of Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russia. Another key focus will be on holding Russia accountable for crimes committed since 2014.
