Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyu believes that his relationship with US President Donald Trump can still be salvaged following their tense meeting at the White House. The Ukrainian leader emphasized the need to continue the negotiations behind closed doors, according to Reuters.

During a conversation with journalists following a summit with European leaders in London, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed confidence that the US will continue to support Ukraine. He argued that the US, as leaders of the civilized world, would never aid Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the same time, Zelenskyy stated that he is prepared for any difficulties that may arise.

Regarding the prospects of salvaging relations, he said, "As regards salvaging the relationship, I think our relationship will continue... I do not think it's right when such discussions are totally open. ... The format of what happened, I don't think it brought something positive or additional to us as partners."

Additionally, Zelenskyy reiterated his readiness to sign the proposed agreement on mineral resources, believing that the US will also be willing to move forward with it.

Yesterday, US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent stated that the proposed agreement on Ukraine’s rare earth minerals is not currently under discussion, following a tense meeting between leaders last Friday.
