Zelenskyy arrives in Czechia for talks

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska have arrived in the Czech Republic on an official visit. Meetings with the Czech president and prime minister are scheduled as part of the visit, according to the Telegram channel of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Zelenskyy arrived in the Czech Republic on Sunday, May 4.
"Today I welcomed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the leader of the free world," Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský wrote on social media platform X.
Zelenskyy thanked the Czech Republic for its principled support and the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
He noted that the Czech artillery initiative has proven effective, and this cooperation will continue.
Particular attention will be given to the development of Ukraine's military aviation, the expansion of training programs for pilots, and the provision of F-16 aircraft.
"A specific area of cooperation is the development of our military aviation, expanding training programs for pilots, and ensuring our fleet of F-16s. Together with the Czech Republic and other participants in the aviation coalition, we are preparing good news for Ukraine," the president stated.
What else is known about Zelenskyy’s visit to the Czech Republic
It is worth noting that ahead of the visit, Czech media outlets, including Seznam Zpravy and iDNES.cz, reported that the president might arrive in Prague on an unannounced visit. This was evidenced, in particular, by the closure of Prague Castle to visitors from 11:00 to 16:30 local time.
According to media reports, Zelenskyy plans to meet with Czech President Petr Pavel, Prime Minister Petr Fiala, and Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský.
During the visit, discussions are expected to focus on military assistance, Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as security guarantees.
