Zelenskyy is not asking for foreign troops to fight in Ukraine - White House
The United States will not deploy its troops to Ukraine for war with Russia. Kyiv is requesting only the shipment of weapons, according to a briefing by the White House National Security Communications Advisor, John Kirby.
According to Kirby, the US Congress is expected to approve new funding of over $60 billion in aid to Ukraine.
He reminded that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, President Joe Biden has consistently stated that the US will not send troops to Ukraine.
"And you know what? President Zelenskyy isn’t asking for that. He’s just asking for the tools and capabilities," clarified Kirby.
The official explained that Ukrainian soldiers need means for defense, and this is where assistance from the US is required.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron did not rule out the possibility that NATO might deploy troops to assist Ukraine. However, he clarified that there is no consensus on this matter.
Several NATO countries have already opposed this idea, including Germany, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Spain, and Italy.
At the same time, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia have stated that they are willing to consider such a possibility.
