This will be the fifth on-court meeting between the players. Currently, the head-to-head record stands at 3-1 in favor of Gauff.

However, their last match, which took place in the first round of this year's Wimbledon, ended with a stunning straight-sets victory for the Ukrainian player, 7-6 (7-3), 6-1.

Match Schedule

The Yastremska vs. Gauff match will be held on Center Court. It is scheduled to start around 10:00 PM Kyiv time. It will be the third match on the schedule, following the match between Medjedovic and Alcaraz.

Path to the Third Round

At the Cincinnati tournament, Dayana Yastremska defeated Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova in the second round. Meanwhile, Coco Gauff confidently began her run by beating Chinese player Wang Xinyu in straight sets.

Two other Ukrainian players who participated in the tournament have already been eliminated. Elina Svitolina ended her fight in the second round, losing to Czech Barbora Krejčíková.

Marta Kostyuk was unable to advance to the third round due to a wrist injury. Her opponent was Polish player Iga Świątek.

Gauff's Comment on the upcoming match

At a press conference after her second-round win, Coco Gauff shared her expectations for the upcoming match against Yastremska. The American said she does not view the match as a rematch, despite her loss at Wimbledon.

"I don't ever think of like revenge-type tennis. At first, I used to think like that, but then I'm like, I've played too many people too many times to have like a revenge mindset," the tennis player explained.

"I think for me, it's a good measure to see where my game is. It was just a tough loss for me, and I don't think I approached it as well," Gauff added.

She also noted that matches against Yastremska are always challenging for her and praised the Ukrainian's strengths.

"And Dayana, I always have trouble against her. She's a tough opponent, great ball striker, can pull winners out of anywhere. Um, so yeah, it'll be a tough test for me. But I think I have had more time to work on things in the hard court season, and I definitely think it's a better surface than grass for me," the athlete said.

"So it's going to be a tough match, but I am looking forward to it and hopefully I can do better than Wimby," concluded the world's No. 2.
