X crashes across Ukraine and the world: What we know so far

On Saturday, May 24, the social network X experienced an outage. Users reported problems loading pages, according to Downdetector.
The disruptions started around 3:20 PM Kyiv time. X showed errors when updating the feed. However, not all users were affected.
According to Downdetector, between roughly 3:20 PM and 4:00 PM, the number of complaints about the app was several times higher than usual.

The cause of the outage is still unknown. Elon Musk’s company has not commented.
Downdetector also shared a map of Ukraine highlighting where user reports of problems were concentrated over the past 24 hours. They noted that incidents are reported when the number of problem reports exceeds the typical volume for that time of day.

Outages on X
On March 10, 2025, X also experienced an outage. Users complained about problems logging in, refreshing their news feed, or sending messages.
Most reports came from the eastern United States. The company did not comment on the incident at the time. However, Elon Musk later claimed it was a cyberattack.
"There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against X. We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved," Musk wrote.
