WTA rankings shake-up: Svitolina enters top 15, Kostyuk and Yastremska retreat

The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) released an updated world ranking following tournaments held from July 21 to July 27, 2025, reports the official WTA website.

Ukraine's top-ranked player, Elina Svitolina, retained her position, remaining at 13th in the world ranking.
Meanwhile, two other Ukrainian players in the top 100 dropped. Marta Kostyuk slipped one place, now ranked 28th, and Dayana Yastremska fell two positions to 35th.
Yuliia Starodubtseva is showing improvement, moving up one spot and now holding 73rd place.
At the same time, three other Ukrainian players in the top 200 lost ground. Angelina Kalinina dropped to 132nd, Oleksandra Oliynykova to 176th, and Daria Snigur to 193rd.
There were no changes in the updated WTA top 10. The top spot continues to be held by "neutral" Aryna Sabalenka, with Spain's Paula Badosa rounding out the top ten.

Ukrainian player Lyudmyla Kichenok remains in 16th place. Her sister Nadiia, thanks to a tournament win in Prague, moved up to 52nd.
Marta Kostyuk is also in the top 100 of the doubles rankings, currently at 86th.

Over the next two weeks, Ukrainian tennis players will compete on the courts of the WTA 1000 tournament in Montreal, Canada, where they will fight for new ranking points.
In particular, Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, and Dayana Yastremska are seeded and skip the first round, while Yuliia Starodubtseva faces a Chinese opponent, Wang Yafan, in the first round.
