Working with Putin: Ukraine responds to Iran’s strike on US base in Qatar

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has condemned Iran’s missile strike on the US air base Al Udeid in Qatar, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns the missile strike carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran on the territory of the State of Qatar, particularly on the Al Udeid base, one of the key elements of regional security," the statement said.
The ministry added that Iran’s attack came immediately after Israel held "extensive consultations" with Iranian representatives in Moscow.
"The Iranian regime closely cooperates with Russia and provides it with military-technical support in its war of aggression against Ukraine. Iran and Russia are two criminal regimes supporting each other in aggression and terror, together destabilizing the Middle East and Europe," the statement continued.
Ukraine called on Tehran to return to cooperation with the international community to fulfill its obligations under nuclear non-proliferation agreements.
"We express our full solidarity with the government and the friendly people of Qatar in this time of trial," the ministry added.
Iran’s strike response
Iran struck the Al Udeid air base in Qatar, considered the largest US facility in the Middle East and the headquarters of US Central Command (CENTCOM).
Tehran said the strike was a direct response to the bombing of three of its nuclear facilities. Iranian military officials stated it was a retaliation for the attacks.
