At first glance, familiar brands are expected to be the same across countries. But a new comparison of the popular drink Fanta Orange showed that the differences can be striking — and not just in taste.
Blogger Phoebe, known on social media as phoebeisginger, discusses the differences between Fanta from the US and the UK.
How the drinks differ
The blogger poured drinks from two cans into glasses and immediately noticed a difference.
The American version was bright orange, almost neon, while the British version was much lighter, closer to the natural shade of juice.
Even more shocking were the ingredients. The US can contain about 44 g of sugar, while the UK can have only 15 g.
Phoebe was surprised: in her opinion, the difference seemed excessive and raised questions about production standards.
The taste is different too
During the taste test, the difference became even more obvious. She described the American drink as too sweet, while the British version tasted more like actual orange juice.
In the comments, users debated: some agreed that the American version packs more flavor, while others criticized the excessive sweetness and ingredients.
