The meeting in Berlin between the Ukrainian and US delegations lasted over five hours and is set to continue tomorrow, reports US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.

Steve Witkoff said that the meeting in Berlin included Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and delegations from the United States and Ukraine. The talks lasted over five hours.

"Representatives held in-depth discussions regarding the 20-point plan for peace, economic agendas, and more. A lot of progress was made, and they will meet tomorrow morning again," he wrote.

Earlier, Handelsblatt and Ukraine's Presidential Communications Advisor Dmytro Lytvyn reported that the negotiations in Berlin would continue on Monday, December 15.

Handelsblatt also noted that the US preliminarily recognized the prospects for success in the Berlin talks.

US peace plan

The United States, Ukraine, and Europe have been finalizing a US peace plan for nearly a month, which was initially seen as favoring Russia. The peace plan has now been revised and reduced from 28 points to 20.

Currently, territorial disputes remain the most challenging issue, as Washington demands ceding the Donbas region, which Ukraine rejects.

Recent reports indicate the parties are discussing three key initiatives: a framework document, security guarantees, and a document that lays the foundations for post-war reconstruction.

According to the WSJ sources, the White House aims to secure a peace agreement on Ukraine by the end of the year.
