Will Macron run for a third term? French president reveals his plans

French president says he could return to lead the country in the future if voters support his candidacy.
He noted that France's Constitution does not allow him to seek a third consecutive presidential term. This means he will not run in the 2027 election.
"Let's be clear: by our Constitution, you are entitled to two mandates, two consecutive mandates. So I will finish my term next May, and French people will elect somebody else," the head of state stressed.
Journalists also asked Macron whether he could return to the Élysée Palace once the law allows him to.
Macron confirmed that such a scenario is indeed possible.
"I don't exclude anything. It's quite unusual to come back. But we will see. Life is inventive, sometimes more than movies," the French leader remarked.

Interestingly, Macron recently said that after his term ends in 2027, he does not plan to continue his political career.
"I wasn't involved in politics before, and I won't be involved in politics after this," he said, effectively ruling out a further political career after completing his second term.
However, Macron's latest statement suggests he leaves open the possibility of returning to politics in the future.
As previously reported, Macron publicly shamed US President Donald Trump at the UN General Assembly.
The French leader also recently announced a significant strengthening of Ukraine's air defenses.
In addition, reports said Macron and Trump discussed an energy truce between Ukraine and Russia.
